‘Escape Routes’ Grand Finale Tonight

by Doug MacRostie

As part of the media-blitz introducing the all-new 2013 Escape, Ford partnered up with NBC to create a competitive reality show pitting 6 teams against eachother in challenges all across the U.S. Naturally, they all drive around in 2013 Escapes and have to use features like the voice-activated navigation system, the hands-free liftgate, and active park assist. The last episode is tonight. Except for those of us on #huludelay (so, don’t tell me who wins!).

I am uber excited for the all-new Escape. I got to see it in person down at the Twin Cities Auto Show and it is waaay different.

Some Rise, Some Fall, Some Climb (…We Drove) to Get to Terrapin

by Doug MacRostie

Ever been to Nevis, MN? Neither had I until last night. Why? One of my fav MN bands, Two Many Banjos, was performing at Terrapin Station.  It was an excellent.

Truth be told, the original plan is a perfect example of me being an ass as a husband: I told my wife, “hey, let’s go see TMB at Terrapin for our Vday date!” – leaving out, “…so I can bring along my recorder and do an interview with Marc Gartman.” And what have I learned? That mixing work into the equation changes the overall flow slightly away from a true date, which is okay if you just admit it right away. Wifey and I had a lovely time :)
